Greetings from Air Rock Patrol:

I hope you had the opportunity to enjoy a 3 day weekend.  Thanks for coming along our daily journey to Rock & Roll Island.

Before we get to our flight I have to get serious for a moment.  Alexei Cherepanov, a 19-year-old draft pick of the National Hockey League New York Rangers passed away.  Details were not very strong but it is thought to be heart related.  The tragedy gets worse.  It is believed the facility he was playing in (overseas) did not have an ambulance on the premises.  They lost 15-20 minutes of time waiting for one to arrive.  To his family the deepest sorrow.

Rock & Roll today comes in picture form.  Thank you to Rob Mayes from the U.K. for letting me show his great work!

Enjoy the new photos on the board and remember we have almost 700 on our flights!  All copyrighted and with 100 percent permission.

Enjoy!  got to go rock and roll.

Please fly here for Rock Photos Jefferson Style:

The 2 new Jefferson projects have arrived!

Thanks as always!

Relax and have fun!

Take Me To A Circus Tent

I look forward to hearing you later!

The book is Take Me To A Circus Tent (The Jefferson Airplane Flight Manual) W/93 photos, 32 interviews, 543 pages, and a myriad of 5 star reviews!

Please remember at any moment on an Aircast it can be a rare memory from the Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, KBC, Wooden Ships, Marty Balin, Paul Kantner to name several.  Maybe another picture previously unseen from the Rock Tent Vault sees daylight from Herb Greene or Don Aters.

Wishing you a great day,

CF

Hi there from Airplane Land:

This was very kind by a gentleman named Clarence.  He recorded a PSA for Signe Anderson’s Health Fund.  Please check it out and tell Clarence thanks so much!

Signe Anderson is an original member of the band Jefferson Airplane. It’s her alto voice you hear on their first album, “Jefferson Airplane Takes Off” and such tracks as ‘High Flyin’ Bird’, ‘Blues from an Airplane’ and others. Today, Signe Anderson is battling cancer. And she and her family are dealing with enormous medical bills.
The Signe Anderson Health Fund has been set up at jeffersonairplane.com/signe. Click the ‘Make a Donation’ button to give whatever you can (all donations are through Paypal – you don’t have to be registered with Paypal to give). After Paypal’s transaction fees, every penny will go to Signe and her family.
Please help Signe Anderson and her family through this fight by helping to ease their financial worries. And spread the word, online and off-, about the Signe Anderson Health Fund.

And if you’d like an audio PSA to run in your stream, podcast, or on your website, one is available at www.olioradio.net (scroll down to the third paragraph in the main column). Right click on the mp3 file to save it.
(Thx to ‘Craig the Airplane Man’ for the info)
Love and Peace, Clarence

Thanks as always for your support for Signe,

Craig

Hello there again on an early morning:

Good news all around.  If all goes well Aircast #32 will be ready for flight in the afternoon on Monday and it is tremendous.  It will be backed up with some video to go with the audio!

Don Aters the superlative rock and roll photographer was kind enough to send me a David Freiber shot from the Jefferson Starship gig at Golden Gate Park, San Francisco on September 2, 2007.  What makes this such a great picture is the clarity.  It is as if David is right there with you.  Thanks Don!

Fly here please http://www.takemetoacircustent.net  It will be found on Page 3 of the Airshow Photo Section.  While you are there please look for over 60 pictures of the Airplane family.  It should be the most amount of photos you can find of the band in one place.  These are not the typical shots.  Many Herb Greene 1966 rarities for you fine flyers.

Get some rest and have a great Monday.  I’ll see you later as we board for a special Aircast!

All the best,

cf

Hello there and welcome to Monday afternoon in the Airplane Fields:

How are you?  Anything exciting happening?  Yes there will be rarities in a few hours but as promised the tunes that the Jefferson Starship played at Golden Gate Park on September 2, 2007 for the Summer Of Love Festival.  Remember each band got 15 minutes so if you are surprised to see a short set that is the reason.  Thanks to Captain Rick Martin for the info as it happened.

Hello again and welcome back my friends to the rarities that never end:

How did Friday go for you?  Hope the weekend began nicely.

A mutual friend forwarded me an Airmail from Signe Anderson. Things are very rough right now.  It did not include the new contact information or I would have called her to update us all.  Let us hope she has a better road real soon.  For those that have asked about her a large Thank You from Signe and myself.

I promised something interesting and thought you may enjoy this video:

As you watch the cool cover from the Airplane Man’s private seats (The Deal (Part 1 & 2) please support the nice but very poor and starving author of the new Jefferson Airplane book “Take Me To A Circus Tent” W/93 photos, 32 interviews, and 5 star reviews!! Thanks. From VooDoo Lounge, Harrah’s Casino, St.Louis, Missouri March 15, 07

the Jefferson Starship cover one by an old friend.   David Freiberg was a long time friend of Jerry and it was nice when this showed up time to time in the J.S. stage show.  For Jerry Garcia “The Deal.”

The players on that night were:

Paul Kantner guitar & vocals

David Freiberg vocals

Diana Mangano vocals

Slick Aguilar lead guitar & vocals

Prairie Prince drums

Chris Smith keyboards

Watch it a time or two or three and thanks for flying by. Have a great Saturday,
