Eyesight To the Blind

Eyesight To The Blind was written by Sonny Boy Williamson. Sonny had a tremendous influence during the start of the Yardbirds career. They recorded a record with him. The song become popular when the Who did a version on Tommy. Eric Clapton has performed the tune (Tommy Soundtrack) and live over the years. This is an example of a song that people thought Pete Townshend had written. Check it out and enjoy the blues feel given the song by Moonalice. Thank you to Pete Sears for his kindness.

Thanks for sharing part of the holiday with me. I have a couple of gems from the Rock Tent Vaults. We fly back to 1970 and go to the great United Kingdom. It’s David Crosby and Graham Nash performing:

Good evening and welcome to a long flight but you’ll not want this one to land anytime soon.  We go to 1969 for an unknown source.  However the band is familiar.  They re the Jefferson Airplane and the song is Donovan’s Fat Angel. 

Speaking of Donovan (Not the musician) I hope he is doing better.  Our thoughts are with you and family. 

It was an amazing day for me.  The 40^th anniversary of legendary progressive rock station WNEW-FM in New York City today was celebrated.  Obviously since the evil consultants destroyed them in the late 70’s and now they aren’t even a rock station, the festivities had to take place elsewhere.  That location was WFUV from Fordham University.  Former WNEW-FM personality Pete Fornatelle took care of the special.  Thanks Pete and to all from WNEW during the glory days.   I look forward to hearing you later on.   J

How are things going?  I hope the week has been flying by.  Aircast #40 is ready to take off but not until you have a good seat.  Plenty of rock and roll to enjoy.I’m working on a Jefferson Starship project and I find it terrific how the walls of all nations can be brought closer through Airmail.  I was providing some information to somebody in Belgium and Luxemburg.  You don’t think any differently than if it were going around the corner.  Rock & Roll is great when we can share a common interest.Enjoy the tunes!
