Great SocietyTake Me To A Circus Tent

Greetings from Air Field Thursday:

Thanks for boarding the flight and it is full of Beatles. These aren’t bugs but the legends of rock.

How about unreleased versions of:

Penny Lane

Strawberry Fields Forever

You talked me into it.

I was speaking to Marty Balin yesterday and he and Slick Aguilar have a tremendous sense of humor. He repeats the story that throughout his years with the Airplane and the Jefferson Starship he would come up with a really strong tune and often a great suggestion for the final mix. The band would dig the song but somebody from the record company would tell him “It doesn’t sound like an Airplane song.” Marty would always say “Let me get this right, I write the song, I play in the Airplane, the Airplane is recording the song, and it is going on an Airplane record, but it isn’t an Airplane song.”

Marty has some cool solo gigs coming up with Slick and friends. Donny Baldwin may play with Marty/Slick in New England soon for a show.

A quick thanks to session musician Jono Brown who played 2 gigs with the Jefferson Starship for providing some information on Wednesday.

Have the best day,

Quality Rock & Roll Airplane style.

Relax and have fun!

Take Me To A Circus Tent

I look forward to hearing you later!

The book is Take Me To A Circus Tent (The Jefferson Airplane Flight Manual) W/93 photos, 32 interviews, 543 pages, and a myriad of 5 star reviews!

Please remember at any moment on an Aircast it can be a rare memory from the Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, KBC, Wooden Ships, Marty Balin, Paul Kantner to name several. Maybe another picture previously unseen from the Rock Tent Vault sees daylight from Herb Greene or Don Aters.

All the best,
