Right now after working 84 hours a week on the book, I am in a holding patern until I get to see a proof copy. It is hard to have some down time. There are still many things to do behind the scenes.
Take the next flight to the website and if all goes well the book may be out the end of October.
There is one from the Signe days at the Monterey Jazz Festival 9/3/66, a bunch of out-takes of the Surrealistic Pillow cover and a 1964 flyer that has 3 future members of the Airplane playing at the same place, but not the same time.
Hopefully the end of next month the book is ready!
Everyone be well and please wish my dad a fast recovery,
Got some news. I am still doing some odds and ends with the book. The important work is to see about having as many photos as possible. I would like at least 94 for Take Me To A Circus Tent www.takemetoacircustent.net
Bob Harvey emailed me and is working on 2 CD’s for next year or maybe sooner. He is the original bass-player of the J.A.
I was thinking it would be cool as we get closer for the book Take Me To A Circus Tent to come out if I put up a photo of a musician that played with a J.A. member and the first person that emails with the correct answer I can give an Airplane rarity to.
It can also be done by asking a question.
My dad hasn’t been doing well the past two days and I hope things can improve so once all the last details of the book are taken care of we can have some fun and I can certainly offer a zillion cool items.
Have a great Thursday and wish my dad luck with the doctor today.
As I type it is roughly 12:37AM Wednesday morning and I am still going through the index to Take Me To A Circus Tent (Jefferson Airplane Flight Manual). I was hoping it would be done Thursday but dad isn’t feeling well and I hope he can see a specific doctor today.
Please wish him well.
Going through the interview section of the book reminded me how much insight there is to the artist and not only their commonly known works but the albums that may not have sold well but offer great artistic ability.
Hope the weekend went well. The indexing of the book “Tak Me to A Circus Tent” is getting done little by little. Actually little by lot. Takes time and plenty of it. Once the index is done, there will be 2 more steps. Deciding on the back cover and seeing if one or two more photos can find there way.
Everytime I think dad takes one step forward it seems it is 2 back. Please wish him well.
I’m going through the index and then if all goes well we get down to the nitty gritty for Take Me To The Circus Tent. There isn’t a good way to do the index. It is long and slow and that is with computers!! I can see the finish line, sort of.
Thanks (Craig The Airplane Man) and please keep the emails and site visits coming www.takemetoacircustent.net
Glad to report that I couldn’t resist getting every cool photo possible in the book. I am attempting to have 92 approved. Yes, that is up from the 75 I was going for originally.
Everybody have a great weekend. Dad is doing better and that makes it fantastic already.
